Title: English Bites: My Fullproof English Learning Formula

Author: Manish Gupta

Publisher: Penguin Books

Genre: Non fiction

Number of Pages: 334

My Verdict:
First of all I would like to thank Manish for sending me his book for review. I loved the concept of how he had managed to learn English language in a fun manner. I finished reading the book in about one week. This book is targeted to Students and the ones who are preparing for competitive exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT etc.
The books normally targeted to these exams are pretty tough to study as they become a bit boring after some time. But Manish has done it and presented it in a form of a wonderful tale. I found one thing distracting in the book, the footnotes. They made my reading slower and distracted me from the tale somewhat but still it’s a great effort.
English, being a global language is essential nowadays. I have also studied from books targeted for the competitive exams and after few days of studying, I would put them impeccably in my rack and they remain still untouched :) This book has made the learning fun as well as keeping the reader engaged. He could have made a separate glossary of the words also but the reader might have found this approach cumbersome as he/she would have to turn the  pages every time to look for a meaning, so the footnote approach is appreciated.
Overall, I would recommend this book to the readers looking for boosting their vocabulary. Its’ sure a fun way of learning. Good work, Manish! I thank you again for the wonderful read.

My Rating:
3.5/5 (for readers picking this up as story point of view or who are experienced readers)
5/5 (for the readers who really want to boost their vocabulary by learning in a fun way)

'Welcome to Melbourne' a voice echoed as the plane landed at the Melbourne airport. There was a hustle and bustle as the passengers started removing their luggage from the cabin compartment. Pankhuri was delighted. She performed all the formalities of arrival, claimed her luggage, hired a taxi and left for the hotel. She had to stay in a hotel for first few days till all the formalities for her admission at the university were completed and the hostel allocated to her. She reached the hotel at around 10 in the morning. A blonde man with blue eyes, wearing a Grey suit who sat at the reception welcomed her. 'Welcome to the Melbourne Marriot, Ma'am. Here is your room card.' He said giving a swipe card to her. 'Thank you, Could you please arrange someone to fetch my luggage to the room?' she asked importantly. 'Sure!' he said. 'Thanks!' she smiled and left for the room. The room was scented with a sweet aroma. The l

I wish this night stayed....

Cold breeze grazing my feet Maybe it's an act so folly But my heart skipped a beat Surrounded by sheer melancholy Your whispers echoing in my ears Its difficult to see with Eyes welling up with tears Heart aching in writhe Winds changed the direction again Waiting for this since quite long No more I can abstain Come let's dance to the song Beneath the open sky Beside you I laid Now don't say bye I wish this night stayed... Check out the poem Just you and I... Image source: here
